Migration / Configuration Information for Windows 95/98 Dialup Networking

Instructions for How to Change the Telephone Number and DNS in Dial-Up Networking for our New Oak View Office:

To change the Telephone Number:

  1. Double-click on My Computer and then double-click on Dial-Up Networking .

  2. Right-click the Dial-Up Networking connection you use to connect to Ojai.Net (usualy called Ojai.Net) and select Properties. You can also single-click on the Dial-Up Networking connection you use to connect to Ojai.Net and select Properties from the File menu.

  3. Delete the contents of the Telephone Number field.

  4. Enter the new phone number (676-1821 if you have a 56k modem, or 649-6750 if you have a 33.6k or slower modem) in the Telephone Number field.

To verify the Domain Name Servers (DNS) are properly configured:

  1. Select the Server Types tab or button.

  2. Click TCP/IP Settings.

  3. Click the button next to "Server assigned name server addresses"

  4. Click OK. Click OK again.
