Migration / Configuration Information for PPP for the MacOS

Instructions on How to Change the Phone Number and DNS using PPP Control Panel (OT/PPP) for Mac OS:

To change the User ID and Phone Number:

  1. Select Control Panels from the Apple pull-down menu and select PPP.

  2. Delete the contents of the Number field.

  3. Enter the new phone number in the Number field (676-1821 if you have a 56k modem, or 649-6750 if you have a 33.6k or slower modem) .

  4. Close the PPP window.

  5. Click Save.

To change the Domain Name Servers in TCP/IP:

  1. Select Control Panels from the Apple pull-down menu and select TCP/IP.

  2. Next to Connect via, select PPP.

  3. Next to Configure, select Using PPP Server.

  4. Select User Mode from the Edit menu. Select Basic and click OK.

  5. In the Name server address box, type the following:

    6. 209.144.103.10

    209.144.103.11

  6. In the Search domains box, enter ojai.net

  7. Close TCP/IP and save the changes.
